Broadside Chardonnay 2017
Light bright gold. Pear and nectarine aromas show good clarity and pick up smoky lees and toasted grain nuances with aeration. Ripe tropical flavors of mango and pineapple with a firm seam of acidity wrap around the tongue suspending flavors well into the finish. There is a pronounced lushness to the wine that adds both weight and complexity.
The Paso Robles appellation changed dramatically when the Margarita Vineyard was added, which represents the core of Broadside wines. Paso Robles has traditionally produced “jammy” styled reds, due to the high heat of their inland growing regions. The Margarita Vineyard is much closer to the coast, allowing in cool, misty breezes which produces reds of firmer structure and tremendous depth while maintaining the value-driven pricing of Paso Robles wines. Broadside was created by the husband & wife wine-making team of Brian & Stephanie Terrizzi.
