Cara Sur Criolla Chica 2022
Criolla Chica | Argentina
Formed in 2011 by two Argentinian couples, the quartet set out to revive the planting of varieties indigenous to Argentina called "Criollas." Sitting at 4,920 feet above sea level, the vines are planted in alluvial soils along the Los Patos River.
These wines are trained on traditional “Parral” trellis systems, which help limit sun exposure and maximize airflow in the warm growing environment of Barreal in the San Juan province.
Small production, low intervention wine that sees spontaneous fermentation of native yeasts and 10 months in concrete on its lees. Fresh acidity, restrained alcohol, red fruits and just a touch of greenness make this a lovely partner for many foods.
