Arak (or Arc. Arabic عرق) is an alcoholic beverage that belongs to the family of aniseed drinks produced mainly in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Israel. Produced for the first time Arab and Mediterranean countries such as Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Moroccan and Turkish.
The name arak in Arabic means "Sweat" (due to evaporative distillation process and drip).
The Arak produce by fermentation and distillation of grapes or dates and drip the liquid produced by this process anise seeds or dried leaves, that give it a unique taste. Transparent drink of water (colorless) and the alcoholic content of 40% - 80%. The alcohol content must be high, because the source of the taste of the drink is essential oils of anise and are dissolved in alcohol. Like vodka and other alcoholic beverages, Too much could lead to alcoholism and injury to health. Aniseed is very healthy before and after eating, even in India after eating acceptable eat a few grains of aniseed to help digesting the food.
