Deep ruby red/purple color. Intense aromatics of sweet black cherry, cassis and violets broaden to show floral perfume notes, dark cocoa powder and complex minerals. The palate features an explosive core of sweet black fruits and an elegant yet luscious mouth feel which deepens and concentrates with aeration.

A classic, elegant vintage in a similar vein to our 2001 Estate Cabernet, the wine features a complex array of cool climate aromas and flavors as befits this long cool growing season. The overriding sense of sleek minerality and ‘Larkmead purity’ provide an element of finesse and approachability that is currently hard to resist, yet all the components are present for a decade of positive bottle-development.
