L'Aventure Cote a Cote 2008
40% Grenache, 40% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre. Grown, produced, and bottled by Stephan Vineyards, established in 1998 by Stephan Asseo. Features tea and tobacco leaf, garrigue, and jambon in the nose, as well as blueberries and pencil shavings.
The mouth is full of spicy berries, licorice, and redcurrants. This wine is impeccably integrated.
Stephan Asseo began making wine in 1982 and founded Domaine Courteillac in Bordeaux in that same year. Stephan and his family later purchased Chateau Fleur Cardinal and Chateau Robin in Castillon - Cotes de Bordeaux. However, his true desire was to be more innovative than AOC law would allow. So in 1996, this led him on a quest for a great terroir where he could pursue his ideal as a winemaker. After searching for over a year among the world's greatest wine fields, ranging from South Africa to Lebanon, and Argentina to Napa, Stephan found Paso Robles.
