Los Dominios de Berceo Reserva 36 2001
Clean and brilliant cherry red color with purple trimming. Mature nose of jammy cherry and red berry fruits, with hints of chocolate and red and black fruits. Smooth, with a good structure and well rounded; a vigorous, elegant wine with good balance and intensity.
100% Tempranillo. The tempranillo bunches were handpicked at peak maturity, whole, clean, and leaf free in 33-lb, individual, plastic crates. After destemming, vinification was carried out by fermenting via the traditional "Bordelais" method, with skins being in contact with the must. After two fermentations, the aging process began with the wine spending 24 months in French oak barrels (Allier, Nevers, and Tronrais) and 12 months in bottle. The wine was neither filtered nor cold stabilized in order to preserve its unique personality.
