Roland Lavantureux Chablis Vauprin 2022
Ripe fruit and fine toasted notes mark the nose. The mouth has best features: power and roundness before a late slight vanilla mouth. This wine goes perfectly Seafood, foie gras, poultry to mushroom, grilled fish or creamy cheeses.
Arnaud Lavantureux, the elder son of Roland, is one of the best young winemakers in Chablis. After his return from viticulture school, Arnaud debuted a Chablis called "Vauprin" which quickly gained press in the region. Vauprin comes from a 3ha plot, situated on a deposit of kimmeridgian limestone with some clay. The average vine age is 40 years, and the yield is very low. Arnaud ferments at a low temperature in stainless steel barrels, and ages his wine in 228L neutral french oak foudre. The resultant wine is very pure, clean, and highlights the incredible terroir of this site. Outstanding wine from a talented young winemaker.
