Le Vieux Clocher Chablis 2023 is a crisp and elegant white wine hailing from the renowned Chablis region in Burgundy, France. This vintage offers vibrant notes of green apple, citrus, and subtle minerality, characteristic of its terroir.
Very pale gold in color, this classic Chardonnay is the ideal balance of Old World restraint with California sunshine. The aromas and flavors are delicate, with citrus, floral and mineral notes on a wine of fresh acidity and medium body.
A complex nose of white flowers, lemon peel, tangerine, green almond and hazelnut, nutmeg, and fresh brioche. The palate is crisp and vibrant, with aromas of fresh and dry fruits, and a precise minerality.
Pale straw in color with a nose that leaps from the glass, reminiscent of lemon curd, green apple, and hints of jasmine flower. On the palate, the wine bursts with a bright and brilliant array of citrus, from makrut lime to Meyer lemon peel, interwoven with an ever-present stony minerality. Its fresh acidity is complemented by a subtle hint of oak and marzipan from barrel age.
Brilliant yet pale gold in color, the 2021 Hawk Hill Vineyard Chardonnay beams with energy and verve. Vibrant citrus aromas are balanced by an undertone of light clover honey and crushed wet stone.
The 2021 Chardonnay showcases a combination of 4 distinct blocks from the Hudson Estate planted to Heritage Shot Wente clone. Hudson hand selected barrels from each site to create a Chardonnay that fully expresses the elegant and balanced style of Hudson Vineyards. The wine is rich with bright acidity and mouthwatering notes of citrus, stone fruit, and brioche.
Lively and lemony and racy. Remarkably reminiscent of an Hautes-Côtes Blanc. Lovely texture and great freshness. Very good!
Sitting at almost 1,400 feet above the Sonoma Valley, Charlie Smith is the “ying” to the Ritchie “yang.” Primary aromas of fresh zested lemon, jasmine, and tart pippin apple are followed by secondary aromas of chalk, spearmint, and lightly toasted macadamia.
Very floral in the nose with scents of honeysuckle and gardenia flowers, this wine is balanced and finesseful on the palate with our usual firm acidity. The finish is long, subtle, and mineral-laced.
There’s a mini-trend of Burgundian masters making wine in Oregon. Jean-Nicolas Meo and his old friend, Jay Boberg, is a super-exciting example of just why this trend is such a good thing.
Domaine Chevrot is located in Cheilly-les-Maranges, between the Maranges and Santenay appellations. Pablo and Vincent Chevrot, two brothers with degrees in oenology, have been managing the estate for over 10 years.
Russian River Ranches is a beautiful, pale straw color with pale green tinges. As you smell this wine, you will notice fruit forward aromas with hints of light floral notes. Scents of Bosc pear and Honeycrisp apple are accentuated with notes of nougat, roasted nuts, oak spice and a touch of citrus blossom.
The 2022 Santenay 1er Cru Le Beaurepaire is gourmand and enveloping, bursting with aromas of peach, white flowers, buttery pastry, toasted almonds and freshly baked bread.
The finest rendition of this cuvée to date, Santenay Les Vignes Denses derives from high-density plantings in lieu-dit Les Prarons. Unwinding in the glass with notions of crisp Anjou pear, lemon oil, vanilla pod and crushed chalk, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and complete, with a deep core of fruit that's framed by chalky dry extract and racy acids. This is worth a special effort to seek out.
2022 is an outstanding Burgundy vintage: a warm and dry year that has produced wines with very high levels of ripeness and power, but which remain beautifully balanced and fresh-tasting too. The quality of the grapes was as good as many growers had ever seen.
