The Dalton Winery is set in the beautiful green, mountainous country of the Upper Galilee, five kilometres from the Lebanese border, overlooking the Hermon Mountain.
Or Haganuz - a unique blend of Mount Meron terroir and selected vineyards rich with history. Innovative technology and advanced equipment, were used to develop this unique, dry wine, with 9% alcohol only, made 100% from very ripe, quality, northern Galilee grapes.
The wine is complex and elegant, bringing forward the richness of wild berries, red fruit, and Mediterranean fresh herbs. No filtration or fining was used while making this wine, in order to preserve those unique characteristics.
In 1848, with the rejuvenation of the Jewish settlement in Jerusalem, Yitzhak Galina-Shor opened the first winery in Israel, in a basement adjunct to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. During the eight generations since its foundation, 1848 Winery continued to grow and gain recognition for its quality wines, re-positioned into several locations, but maintained a tradition of wine production as a way of life.
A unique blend of 3 noble white grape varietals – Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon – from Upper Galilee vineyards at 700m elevation, producing very high quality grapes. On arrival at the winery, whole clusters were gently pressed.
