This wine is a truly exquisite example of combining the finest winemaking skills with beautifully grown and hand-selected clusters of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Double Creek Vineyard of Chalk Hill Sonoma. Raised in chalky and fast draining white volcanic soil, the vines are sheltered from cool fog by warm and moderating breezes.
Sitting at almost 1,400 feet above the Sonoma Valley, Charlie Smith is the “ying” to the Ritchie “yang.” Primary aromas of fresh zested lemon, jasmine, and tart pippin apple are followed by secondary aromas of chalk, spearmint, and lightly toasted macadamia.
This vibrant and fresh Cabernet Sauvignon displays complex aromas of black cherry, cedar and ripe strawberries. On the palate layers of black, juicy fruit mingle with bold yet approachable tannins leading to an expansive, lingering finish.
