Domaine Jean-Paul Balland Sancerre is a clear appearance with a pale yellow hue. Intense aromas at first, fine, very mild of ripe fruits (peach) with hints of citrus and fresh herbs.
A fresh white wine with light-medium body and wonderful citrus and pear flavors. This wine is a sterile, off-dry wine with no resemblance to any Chablis I have ever tasted. This 5 liter box possesses the statement "made with natural flavors," but I am unsure of what that signifies.
The Gush Etzion Lone Oak Gewürztraminer is a semi-dry white wine full of complexity and flavor that will delight your senses. The wine features a greenish straw color and exudes strong, intense aromas of tropical fruit and floral notes on the nose. The palate is highlighted by delicate and flavorful notes of green apple and pear, with crisp and pleasant acidity and a long, tasty finish.
Fine, distinguished. On the first nose, a herbaceous, salty and empyreumatic (sleet) peat clearly dominates. Allowed to breathe, it makes way for fruits (apple, pear, Canary melon), flowers (lily, carnation) and mint, all of which bring lots of momentum to the aroma palette. Gradually, it becomes increasingly milky (cream, coconut), exotic (pineapple, yellow kiwi) and medicinal (ointment, arnica).
The expressions from this brand were very good and value priced across the board, but the reposado was especially memorable. Pale straw color, pleasant mix of vanilla, floral and faint pear fragrances. The flavor is sweet, with a lightly smoky finish with some vanilla tones, reminiscent of lighter peated whiskey. Medium body, smooth feel.
