Herzog Variations Oak is a special wine series that journeys beyond the variations of California wine country, and into the Battle of the Barrels. We start with North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon separated into two different types of oak barrels and see which one will come out on top. Oak barrels are a winemaker's spice rack, allowing them to vary the color, flavor, profile and texture of the wine.
Aromas of freshly cut hay and slight hints of guava lead into more subtle notes of pear. On the palate, the wine is balanced with perfect natural acidity that reveals the refreshing yet subtle flavors of litchi and green apple. This wine reflects the ripe, succulent Pinot Grigio flavors that the g rapes show on the vine.
Château Haut Beaumard is located in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards on a plateau overlooking the bank of the Dordogne. This fleshy and structured wine, offers a complex bouquet of dark fruits with toasty notes. On the palate, the flavors flow into a very nice balance. An uninhibited wine, easy to open in any occasion.
The tenth edition of this limited edition series, Black Art Edition 10 encapsulates the enigmatic alchemy of whisky making; with a reliance on nature, craftsmanship and the passing of time. The barley and cask type remain a mystery, with the final recipe undisclosed.
