After a three year break, the Glendronach Grandeur is back! First released in 2010, Grandeur is a limited-edition single malt that superbly represents Glendronach’s smooth, complex and full-bodied style. The whisky is specially selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie from among the oldest and most unique sherry casks, maturing in Glendronach’s traditional dunnage warehouses.
This Carmenere is sourced from two section of Invina Batuco vineyard in the Maule Valley of Chile. The Carmenere grape with black fruit, herbal notes and soft tannins is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon to add a spicy red fruit characteristic, and Syrah to include notes of red licorice.
A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 MMXVI Cabernet Sauvignon gives up gregarious notions of warm red and black currants, black raspberries and warm plums with hints of chocolate mint, pencil shavings and tilled loam plus a waft of lilacs.
