Over the past decade Herzog searched tirelessly for the perfect opportunity to share the wine of this renowned region with the Kosher Wine world. The grapes were harvested at 26° brix and transported to the cellars at 45°F in bins not fully loaded to keep the clusters intact, de-stemmed into a small tank, and fermented for 13 days.
The first impression of the luxurious "Yarden Rom" with a hint of its inspiring aroma points to richness. The "Yarden Rome" delicately and finely structured spoils the nose with characters of ripe red and black fruits. This wonderful bouquet, is accompanied by pleasant notes of dark chocolate, orange peel, dried flowers, anise, cocoa, smoke and earth. This opulent wine is full-bodied and shows concentrated scents and a very long, elegant finish.
In its youth this is a hefty, muscular beast that gradually takes on an increasingly silky texture as time passes in bottle. Lots of profound dark fruit up front with notes of assorted spice, mint, black pepper and dark chocolate on the nose. The use of oak is judicious and handsome, resulting in a really impressive, elegant wine showing much complexity and finesse.
Very nice deep ruby color, dazzling. Nose of black cherry, salted caramel, gingerbread. Full and indulgent on the palate with notes of brioche. Very nice impression of sweetness.

The 2018 vintage show lovely aromatics of dark fruit, clove, black pepper, vanilla and toasty oak. Rich in the mid pallet, this wine coats the mouth. With a long finish this is a big wine and it will only get better with time. The soft integrated tannin and long finish draw you back for the next sip. Drink now, or age for 5-8 years.
