Boxler is widely considered one of the top producers in Alsace, although this small, meticulously run estate is often overshadowed by its larger, more famous neighbors (Trimbach, Humbrecht etc.). But that suits current winemaker/proprietor Jean Boxler just fine.
Fermented and then aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, the Herzog Special Reserve Reserve Chardonnay is a cool, terroir-oriented wine. While the Russian River Valley's unique climate contributes top notes of lime, chamomile, and tropical fruit, this lovely wine is overlaid with a bouquet of toasty vanilla and oak. Serve as a wonderful companion to grilled fish, veal picata, or grilled vegetables.
Dark red-ruby. Complex aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, fresh blood and bitter chocolate, lifted by a violet note. At once sweet and very firmly built, with blackberry and black cherry flavors framed and lifted by strong spice and floral elements.

Sauvignon Blanc is best known for its drinkability, with this wine proving no exception to the rule. The Yellow Tail Pure Bright Sauvignon Blanc has only 80 calories per serving and has a light and refreshing taste.
Peach, green apple, some currant and a hint of citrus peel. Nice and juicy and inviting in the mouth, it is clear and shows a subtle, refreshing play of sweetness and acidity. Grapefruit and peach notes lead to a pleasant, gently tart aftertaste; simply heavenly! With its subtle residual sweetness, the paradise goes well with plain white meat or in a slightly creamy sauce. But green salads, a crispy lemon chicken or grilled tuna are also a good idea. Or how about a potato-zucchini-carrot gratin? Then the pleasure remains heavenly vegetarian.

Domaine Jean Grivot is among the great names in Burgundian wine. Étienne Grivot and his wife Marielle took over from Étienne’s father Jean Grivot in 1987. The vineyards are densely planted and farmed organically “sans certification” while the aim in the cellar is for balance and clear expression of terroir.
