The fourth and final entry in this legendary series, Hardy Perfection Terre Earth Cognac is a blend of eaux-de-vie, with some of its components reaching back to the pre-phylloxera era of the 1870s.
This dry amber wine is made of Goruli Mtsvane grape variety, derived from the Kartli region. It was made in Qvevri using the Georgian traditional method with the long skin contact. It has amber color and dominant aromas of yellow fruits and almond at the beginning and dried fruits and spices at the finish. This Goruli mtsvane wine is well balanced and has the velvety tannins. It perfectly pairs with the grilled vegetables and barbeque.
Tequila Ocho has announced the first edition of Puntas, a new 50.5% abv Plata Tequila. The release is limited—only 600 cases will be available in the U.S.—and serves as a distiller’s cut release made from spirits distilled at the tail end of the heads and beginning of the hearts distillation runs.
The 2020 Screaming Eagle is one of the great surprises of the year. Energetic and vibrant in the glass, the 2020 offers a bit more energy than most readers are likely used to. All the elements are so well balanced. Dark blue/purplish fruit, lavender, menthol, spice, leather and a soft touch of all fill out the layers effortlessly. In 2020 Screaming Eagle is not as immediately alluring as it so often is, so a measure of patience is warranted.
