The Fog Monster Bedrock Red is an heirloom field blend of 27 different grape varieties, including Zinfandel (55%), Carignan (15%), and Mataro (10%), sourced from the eponymous Bedrock single vineyard planted in 1888.
This 2021 wine is a fine example of the charm, balance and satisfaction that fine Dundee Hills Pinot can provide. Translucent scarlet in colour, with magnetically attractive raspberry scents, once on the palate the wine is soft-contoured yet energetic, with arresting intensity of fruit.
Grape Variety: 100% Melon de Bourgogne – 10-30 years old.
Yield: 50 hL/ha.
Terroir: Granite arena, siliceous clay, deep soils allowing good rooting.

For over 35 years, the Herzog and Watts families have worked together to grow spectacular Zinfandel in the Mokelumne River region of Lodi. This Zinfandel is crafted from vines up to 80 years old, capturing intense flavors and rich texture.
