Generous aromas of boysenberry, black cherry and fig accented with earthy notes. Robust, concentrated flavors on the palate, the wine offers blackberry and boysenberry notes layered with hints of minerality. Structured and opulent tannins fill the palate with a deep, powerful black fruit finish.
As a somewhat more powerful alternative to Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch is also playing an increasingly important role at the Glatzer winery. The typical black cherry dominates the nose, plus a lot of spice with cloves and allspice, also blackberries and some orange zest, plus leafy nuances. A mellow texture on the palate, very engaging, again the spicy blackberry, plus roasted plums, soft tannin and delicate acidity, but intense - a true Blaufränkisch flatterer!
The excellent 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Cras Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Claude Denogent offers up aromas of ripe pears, confit citrus, vanilla pod and mint, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered palate that's deep and powerful but more structured than the voluptuous Clos Reyssié, built around ripe acids and chalky dry extract.

Shallow Aperitivo is a digestive liqueur akin to Aperol or Campari but with a touch less sweetness. Pour poolside, at the park or beach, and you will be happy you went with a smaller company than the major conglomerate competitiors. It is slightly sweet but not overbearing with a light-body and aromas and flavors of sage, hemp, orange peel and rhubarb and cherry. Sip on ice or mix into your favorite cockatil!
