Taragawa is the largest producer on Miyakojima island. Taragawa has a team of just five producing about 1000 Kiloliters per year. Surrounded by sugarcane fields, the distillery was established in 1948. Taragawa uses the hinekoji method which allows a special black mold to propagate for 3 days, creating a strong flavor and aroma suited for long aging.
Layered aromas of blue and black fruits waft from the glass at its first swirl. The wine further unravels on the palate with delightful purity of fruit.
This Carmenere is sourced from two section of Invina Batuco vineyard in the Maule Valley of Chile. The Carmenere grape with black fruit, herbal notes and soft tannins is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon to add a spicy red fruit characteristic, and Syrah to include notes of red licorice.
This 2018 Gravel Road Pinot Noir has a surprising expression of red fruit, especially given the blacker fruits usually associated with a warm growing season like 2018. Pronounced aromas of rhubarb/strawberry, juicy red plum, and black raspberry fruit is layered with allspice with a bit of cinnamon stick spice.
Deep ruby red. Expressive and intense, this wine reflects the great character of Carmenere from Maipo. It has vegetal notes which give it freshness, alongside many ripe fruit aromas, such as plums, blackberries and black cherries.
Dark red-ruby. Complex aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, fresh blood and bitter chocolate, lifted by a violet note. At once sweet and very firmly built,with blackberry and black cherry flavors framed and lifted by strong spice and floral elements.
