Sloan Estate Proprietary Red 2009
Layered with remarkable complexity and intensity of flavors and aromas, Sloan exhibits a gorgeous tension between elements of grace and power, balance and opulence, as well as age and vibrancy. It is a precise wine with defined structure and immense aging potential and at the same time, a seductive wine of exceptional fruit finesse, minerality, and multilayered mouthfeel.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Sloan Estate is perched atop the eastern hills of the Rutherford appellation of the Napa Valley. Planted in 1997 to just over 13 acres of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, and petit verdot, the exceptional vineyard sits on mineral-rich, well-drained soils of sandy loam and fractured volcanic ash at elevations ranging from 875 to 990 feet. The terroir of the hillside vineyard consistently allows the grapes to attain optimal physiological ripeness and produce exquisite wines characterized by extraordinary intensity, remarkable purity, fruit finesse, and minerality.
