Goldeneye began making premium quality, cool-climate Pinot Noir from our estate winery in the Anderson Valley in 1997. Blending grapes from four estate vineyards, we are dedicated to crafting wines of refinement and elegance from a rich palette of terroir-inspired fruit. Reflecting the Mendocino Coast’s unique marine influences, sites and soils, these grapes create sublime and sophisticated Pinot Noir. To further enhance natural depth and complexity, winemaker Michael Fay selects only a small percentage of the finest fruit for each vintage before applying small-lot, artisanal winemaking techniques. A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. The 2017 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from two plots apparently from 2019 the domaine plans two separate cuvées one from the lieu-dit of "Les Gemeaux". It has an understated beautifully defined bouquet that gradually unfurls in the glass: brambly red berry fruit autumn leaves and hints of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This is born with a pitch perfect line of acidity that imparts an engaging sense of harmony very pure with a dash of spice on the finish. Superb. Learn More

Inky bright-rimmed ruby. An exotically perfumed bouquet displays sexy black and blue fruit liqueur scents complicated by suggestions of potpourri vanilla and incense. Stains the palate with sweet deeply concentrated boysenberry cherry cola and fruitcake flavors; a sexy violet pastille nuance emerges with aeration. Rich but also impressively balanced with velvety tannins building slowly on a strikingly long penetrating finish.

The Legan vineyard is a rugged own-rooted planting of Pinot Noir situated at 1,600’ above the tiny community of Coralitos. The hearty vines at Legan are surrounded by the dense Redwood forest of the Southern Santa Cruz Mountains and have been dry farmed since 1980 in deep sandy loam soil. The cooling influence of the nearby Monterey Bay allows for a long steady growing season that coaxes delicate nuance from the fruit grown here. This vineyard spoke to us the moment we set foot in it and thanks to the meticulous work of viticulturist Prudy Foxx we look forward to stewardship of this special site. Learn More
