Saperavi (saw-pear-ah-vee) is an old grape variety from the most ancient winemaking region of the world. This wine is indigenous to Kakheti region located in Eastern Georgia, full-bodied with notes of ripe dark fruits and cassis.
Garnet in color, with aromas of strawberry, pastry cream, and nutmeg. This wine is medium-bodied with dusty fine-grained tannins and a long juicy finish. Enjoy with grilled salmon, braised duck, or stuffed Portobello mushrooms.

Boxler is widely considered one of the top producers in Alsace, although this small, meticulously run estate is often overshadowed by its larger, more famous neighbors (Trimbach, Humbrecht etc.). But that suits current winemaker/proprietor Jean Boxler just fine.
