Rodell Napoleon is a fine brandy renowned for its well-balanced, smooth taste and definitive French Brandy characteristics. Rodell Napoleon is marked as a VSOP - 'Very Superior Old Pale' - but as its namesake suggests, the brandy is 'Napoleon' grade, meaning the youngest contribution of the final product is aged somewhere in between the VSOP and XO minimum maturation requirements of four to six years.
This wine is from the riddle ranch above occidental a cool coastal village strongly influenced by the pacific ocean. Reduced on the nose it offers brightly woven raspberry and strawberry flavors rounded by sizable firm tannins and a midpalate girth that finds relief in rose petal and zesty allspice notes on the finish.
The 2018 Sancerre Blanc Les Romains offers lovely textural depth and fine balance. Lemon confit, marzipan, spice and floral notes add that extra bit of pliancy and resonance that gives the wine its soft curves and open-knit personality. Best of all, the 2018 will drink well right out of the gate.
