This wine is a proprietary blend from the winemakers at Psagot, which means that the grapes will not be revealed but I'm guessing there is either some Syrah or Zinfandel due to the spicy nature of the wine.

In a world of fruit-driven Cabernet Sauvignon, this brand is not shy of herbal influences. In this bottling, aromas of oregano, marjoram, cracked pepper and dried berries work well on the nose, while the palate's chalky tannins frame flavors of charred berry, bay leaf and more garden herbs.

The winery at Checkerboard is a small building reflecting a 'four-poster’ barn style found in early New England. We did not want a large building impacting the quiet and natural surrounding environment.

The 2021 Zinfandel has aromas of blueberry, black stone fruit and black pepper. Polished tannins and flavors of berries, vanilla, black pepper and toasty oak lead to an elegant, balanced, and a rich, long finish.
